It has become a fashion for us to scratch our devices to clarify our doubts whenever they arise. To look into the phone when messages and notifications ding ding into it and gasp at the chat message numbers the whats app icon bears have become our daily(no hourly, minutely secondly?????) routine.
Be it finding out what goes into that pasta that costs 250 bucks at my fav restaurant,or finding the meanings of very rare english words that i did not even know they existed when I come across them in my mams blogs or finding areas of quadrilaterals of different shapes to help my son in his homework I use my device.I make sure my scratch guard is replaced often. While I am obsessed with finding out all things related to home science my hubby is obsessed with all that is related to travel and tour.Navigation bar is all set to guide us on roads everywhere.
With Google as our polestar we moved from a famous Shiva temple near Mysore to Bangalore at 8.00pm.It informed now and then our positon from our destination and we bragged about the time we were going to save by travelling the road not taken.Everything went on well for one hour since we had a road to travel. Then we were taken through the remote rice fields of Karnataka where the Google service ended. The car was ploughing through the darkness around us .Whenever a village comes into a sight there was a relief but this is short lived as we travelled through village after village on mud roads. Finally we reached the highway after 2 hours only to find out that still we had much more kilometers to travel. Our lesson one learnt that day:Don't always rely upon the giant net and especially at night.
Wanting to escape from the crowds at almost all hill stations even Munnar we were discussing to find out a secret place to relax and rejuvenate. We sought out the help of our dearmost friend Google. We were too good to forgive and forget the situation it landed us.This time it showed us a beautiful serene town Vagamon hidden within the folds of Western Ghats and several reviews convinced us to try this little town. This time google was very good to us and landed us into a private estate owned by a very hospitable person who had worked in some renowned hotel group in Ernakulam.Winding through the tea estates we reached first Vagamon pastures. The one image seen by the most people in the world unfurls before our eyes in real. The default window page of Microsoft stretches and stretches to give us a panoramic view with silence.
"The vagamon Heights ",we booked through the net was amidst the thick dense growth of vegetation and when our wheels rolled into the mud roads we were slightly reminded of our lesson one.But our day was made when we accommodated there. It was where the film Peraanmai was shot.Delicious lunch, thrilling jeep ride to breathtaking off road destinations, private boating in a private lake, barbecue dinner, karaoke music and the next day's early morning trekking all had made our stay a very memorable one and also made us learn our lesson two.Dare to explore and innovate.
Now why should you visit Vagamon?
1.Quiet place where you need not want to find a place to park your vehicle.Rush to it as soon as possible because it is now emerging into busy tourist place.
2.The winters are not too cold and summers are not too hot but monsoon season is favorable to unkind leeches that suck your blood without even knocking at your senses.
3.The road to Vagamon is not so steep as in Ooty or Kodai so nauseating kids and old people will feel really comfortable to travel there.
4.Good place for a get together where you could spend hours of socialising without having to look into your watches to rush to nearby eating places.Staff of Vagamon Heights are ready at your beck and call.
5.The package costed 1750 rupees per head last year and that seemed very economical to us .
